When prompted to define dietary fiber more concisely, the British Nutrition Foundation produced the following definition:
a complex mixture of substances with different chemical and physical properties which exert different types of physiological effectsUpon first analysis, one might conclude that 'dietary fiber' is, in essence, everything. It is you and me; it is the sun and the trees.
However, upon closer inspection, one realizes that, due to the use of the word 'different,' dietary fiber may just become everything that isn't.
Once the definition is understood, it becomes increasingly difficult to argue with anything the British Nutritional Foundation has to say. Simply look forward to greater gastrointestinal health as you consume the void before it consumes you.
